“I picked up this book two days ago and quickly finished it. Had no idea what to expect since I don't know much about the author or her other works. The story itself was okay. Not awful nor was it the best story I've read. I did enjoy how the female character, Kat of the story was a woman in STEM and could hold up her own rather than being a helpless damsel in distress. I enjoyed Kat and Sebastian's (love interest) dynamic. In certain moments however I found placement of certain scenes to be awkward such as the suddenness of their attraction towards one another from the beginning of the book. It felt rushed and there wasn't enough build up. Felt like the author threw in certain romantic or steamy scenes in random placements here and there kind of like a reminder that this was supposed to be a romance. However as the story progressed the relationship between the two became better and more naturally plot out. The mystery was nice, the romance was okay (definitely cringed in some moments on how unrealistic it was), ending wasn't too surprising in anyway (like your typical mystery (romance) standard ending). Overall the book was fine. Glad I finished it quickly so I don’t have to spend more time reading it. Will not be reading more from this author (at least in this genre).”
“I read this book simply because Selena Montgomery is better known as Stacey Abrams, yes the politician from GA.”
