Secret Pleasure
ByPublisher Description
The second book in Taryn Leigh Taylor’s series The Business of Pleasure is as sexy as the first!
She’s sweet as sin…and he’s twice as wicked!
Bombshell burlesque performer Kaylee Whitfield has perfected the art of the tease. Onstage, Kaylee disappears completely into “Lola,” her braver, sultrier alter ego. That is, until one of her performances is watched by a pair of joltingly familiar green eyes. Aidan. Her brother’s super-hot former best friend. The breaker of Kaylee’s teenage heart. And now she has the perfect opportunity to make a decade of wanting a red-hot reality without him ever knowing who she is…
But be careful what you wish for.
All Aidan wanted was to find Kaylee. She’s the key to getting some real answers about his father and ending the ridiculous spy-novel scenario he’s found himself in. Instead, Aidan finds her. Blonde, blue-eyed and a body that invites every sin imaginable. But what started as a deliciously hot little tryst has turned into a wicked game. One filled with raw need. And this burlesque babe is doing everything she can to keep Aidan hungry…
Only this game is more dangerous than either of them knows.
Because Aidan just might teach Kaylee a few things about the art of deception, temptation…and how to lose her heart for good.
Sexy. Passionate. Bold. Discover Harlequin Dare, a new line of fun, edgy and sexually explicit romances for the fearless female.

“A fantastically well written romance built upon a combination of "revenge" and "best friend's sister" tropes. The chemistry between Aidan and Kaylee is off the charts and the scenes between them are red hot but we learn enough about their characters and backgrounds to care about them as individuals as well.
This is apparently the second book in the series but I didn't realise it until well after I'd started and not having read the preceding book in no way hampered my enjoyment of this book.

“This was the last bk in Business of Pleasure series for me. I read the last bk first and followed up with bk 1. So I knew where the joining plot would go and where it started. I had the comp of the other couples. It set the bar high. It did not disappointment.
Good: It follows up bk # 1 nicely. It builds on what we know of Kaylee and Aiden in Max's pov last bk. They're easy to root for as a couple once they get together. And most importantly, the best part of this book is Max and Aiden. We get one of my dream confrontation scenes turned reunion turned into why didn’t share your burden moment. I loved it so wholeheartedly. I was giddy and truly, truly happy. This is a romance but what made the book so good for me was the friendship between Max and Aiden. Full disclosure, it's really mostly ch 18 alone. There's background in Max's individual book (bk #1) but it's limited in this bk.
Cons: I am not a fan of duplicity during sex. I did think the minor blow up near the end was bit sudden and out of character for both mc(s). I think it was meant to create strong feelings for the later reveal.”

About Taryn Leigh Taylor
Taryn Leigh Taylor likes dinosaurs, bridges and space, both personal and of the final-frontier variety. She shamelessly indulges in cliches, most notably her Starbucks addiction, her shoe hoard and her penchant for falling in lust with fictional men with great abs. She also really loves books, which is what sent her down the crazy path of writing one in the first place.
