“I loved most of the stories in this book but a couple didn’t hold my attention. Went back and started to read all of the books mentioned in this book.”
Slightly Smiling Face“It has been a hot minute (i.e. 20 years) since I was an old teen/very young adult, but those stories that Rowell features here is where she really shines. She writes regular Midwestern girl so well that I found myself just warming from the inside out as I relived some of these same kind of moments through her writing. I do think the first half of the book had stronger stories than the second half, and I was very purposeful in spacing stories out as I read this because I usually don’t love short story collections, and I do think that helped. I also am a very big fan of Rebecca Lowman, the audiobook narrator. This is one I would certainly recommend.”
