Sasquatch, Baby!

By Bethany Browning
Sasquatch, Baby! by Bethany Browning digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

From the author of Dead Spread, this unputdownable creature feature has readers raving. After her posh Napa Valley friends expel her for committing an unspeakable betrayal, Tabitha Eggs retreats to the redwood forests of Del Norte County, California to drink herself to death. But when she stumbles over two decomposing corpses near her new home-among a growing list of other frightening, unexplainable experiences-she believes that walking into a raging wildfire is preferable to whatever waits in the woods. Her plans are foiled when she's kept alive by a curious sasquatch (who adores salad dressing and is overjoyed by luxury body wash), and they create a bizarre and everlasting union.

Sasquatch, Baby! Reviews

3.5
“Ever thought about banging a crytid and birthing it's spawn? This book is about exactly that. The wholly unlike able Tabitha eggs gets nasty with one of the sasquatches that lives near the forest home she's chosen to drink herself to death in. Tabitha is an allaround train wreck of a human who, after doing her dash with her friend group decides to use her trust fund to buy a forest home to die in but instead becomes pregnant with a cryptid. This book is clever, witty, funny and an all around enjoyable read.”
“This was such a chaotic book. I couldn't get passed the writing and the scenes were abrupt and disjointed. I'd get in a good flow for a minute but then something would come along and break it up. The first half of the book was just detailing the hot mess she was while the second half was a random sasquatch baby. I read a lot of random monster books and this just didn't do it for me. I wasn't a fan of the MFC and the leading MMC wasn't really much there to talk about. Overall I had trouble finding the whole purpose of the book but I loved the last two paragraphs and as as a mom it resonated with me how she wanted to show her undying love for her child forever, and for that reason I rated 2 stars.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever highlighted a book more than this one. Tabitha decides to move to the middle of nowhere to meet her demise. She is at her wits end when a Sasquatch comes into her life and changes everything. Now she must make impossibly hard decisions to save her child. Okay I know what you’re thinking. “Wtf” is right. This story was totally unhinged. However, this was one of the funniest books I’ve read. Something about the writing style and the main characters personality really struck a chord with me. I could not put this book down. The ending even had me feeling such sympathy for Tabitha and all she has gone through. Despite my absolute love for the main character, the only issue I had was from the 60% mark onward it felt like a completely different book. The writing changed (obviously to reflect Tabitha’s life changes) but it did not flow as well as I would have hoped. Nevertheless, I still extremely enjoyed the banter and will definitely be picking up more of Bethany Browning’s work because this was such a fun time. I highly recommend picking this one up if you want a quick read. There’s no spice, just a hilarious main character, and some gore if you can stomach it. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.”
