2.5 is less an objective review of the quality and more just my experience with the story. This book does not take itself seriously and I don’t know whether to love or hate that. Things like “Queen Cookie the Uncrumbled,” like ma’am be so serious lol. It’s painfully self-aware, clearly written for the romantic spice, everything else only exists to facilitate that. Which is fine if that’s what you’re wanting, just not my vibe. And to be fair, the spice is superb. This was my first time reading a book with a semi-risqué cover so I didn’t know how I’d feel about it. It certainly has value to the right reader, it just isn’t me.”
