“3.5 - this was cute!! in this book, we are following vivian as she takes a spontaneous trip to london with her daughter, maddie. as a single mother, vivian hasn’t had the chance to travel much so she is excited to spend the the holidays overseas and have a relaxing time. vivian is just tagging along with maddie since she is on a work trip and doesn’t expect to meet the formal private secretary, malcolm, along the way.
i really enjoyed this for the most part! it felt like a super cute holiday movie that you would watch on hallmark. i loved all the cozy, holiday vibes. i also thought malcolm and vivian’s relationship was so sweet. following an older couple who have been through life and divorces get another chance at love was so special! i also loved how a primary way of communication throughout the book was letters! it felts so old timey and sweet ☺️ throughout the book, vivian and malcom help each other through difficult things and make each other better! my main complaint with this book is that sometimes i found the writing a bit repetitive, but other than that i enjoyed my time!
this is a perfect book to pick up this holiday season”
