“I found Joshua Bassett through HSMTMTS on Disney Plus. I fell off the wagon and then saw him on Tay Lautner’s podcast. As a mental health counselor, I knew this book could (and did) change my life. It’s not everyday males talk about mental health and sexual abuse and harassment because of toxic masculinity. I wish more men spoke out about their mental health. He does it beautifully - even through the anxiety and fear of perception, giving us readers more of him to hate or love. When (not if) you choose to read this book, do it with an open heart. Be considerate. Be loving. Be kind. Treat his story like you would want others to treat yours: with respect and love. Then, and only then, will you see the beauty of vulnerability in the human experience. Truly a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read (and I don’t give 5 stars out to just any book). If he ever sees these reviews, I just want to thank him for this book and the work he will continue to do since publishing Rookie. He is going to make the world a kinder place to live in, one person hearing his testimony at a time 💗💗”
