Romantically Incorrect

Romantically Incorrect by Wendy Rathbone digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

“If you were mine, I’d treat you like gold.”

How to avoid being romantically incorrect:

When your eyes meet his across a crowded room and your heart jolts to a stop, don’t mistake lust for love.

Never follow him to a public restroom to tell him how you feel.

Don’t stalk him online or to a trendy gay bar in L.A.

And do not give him advice on breaking up with his billionaire fiancée who treats him like crap.

Finally, do not offer your house as a haven when the press hounds him, or your arms for comfort when the pressure all around him breaks him into a hundred little pieces.

And, whatever you are hoping for, DO NOT let him model nude for a new art series you are painting.

Artist and model. They hardly know each other. They’ve never dated. But neither can stop craving the other.

Rescue. Hurt/comfort. Nude modeling. Insta-love. L.A. scene. Dealing with fame. Angry billionaire ex. No cheating. HEA.

“I’ve read one book prior to this by this author and enjoyed it but sadly this one was just an okay read for me. Landyn isn’t happy. He feels stuck in an engagement to a man he doesn’t truly love and who is kind of really a huge d-bag. It isn’t until he meets a guy in the restaurant his engagement is being announced at that -- that let’s him know exactly what he thinks Landyn deserves that sets Landyn on the path of wanting to get out of this predicament. Chance doesn’t know what came over him that led to him telling a stranger that he would never treat him as horribly as the man he was there with was. All he knows is he can’t stop thinking about that beautiful man even when he knows he’s with someone else. But, the universe is funny like that and their paths cross once more leading towards a friendship...and much more. AAah, so here’s the thing. I usually don’t mind insta romances but this one I couldn’t get behind. The way Chance went about everything was very stalkerish and creepy -- I believe at one point he even thinks to himself that he’s behaving kinda creepy. But, it wasn’t just their initial meeting it was everything that followed after as well. I had a hard time connecting to the characters as individuals but also as a couple which made their HEA unsatisfying to me. And, then there is the Julian, the Fiancé, who was yes a terrible a-hole and very controlling but the way Landyn went about ending their engagement was so immature that it didn’t surprise me at all that Julian also acted that way. Overall, this wasn’t a win for me. But, if you’re a fan of insta romances than this might be one for you. 2 stars ♡ arc given in exchange for an honest review ♡”
“I spent five days just to finished this book. Too much telling, and I was struggled with the writing. Also, the story was dragged, I almost put it down and unfinished it. But I finished it anyway. I felt like Chance was still a rebound for Landyn. 80 percent of this story focused on Julian and Landyn instead of Landyn and Chance. I liked Chance, but the story didn't give himself a chance to developed. Too bad for a good guy.”
“Just from reading the blurb alone, I think I expected this story to feel and happen a lot differently than what I wound up reading. I think I was expecting smartly written sass and snark, but this wasn’t that. The bulk of this story really felt like the focus was on the breakup between Landyn and Julian. Not Landyn and Chance falling for each other. And honestly, even though Julian was manipulative and uncaring, there were super brief moments when I felt bad for him with how Landyn handled the entire situation. But the focus just felt wrong and distracted from the couple I should be cheering for. Also, the writing felt a bit weird throughout the whole story. I felt like I was being told everything and I still don’t know the ages of anyone, or what their daily lives were like. It was a bit melodramatic and sometimes formal and just cheesy. I can handle instalove but this didn’t even feel like that. I’m sure there are people who will greatly enjoy this one. It just didn’t really work for me. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.”
