Publisher Description

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • Roll the dice, strike up the band, and get ready for a swoon-worthy summer! A charming gaming romance that blends the magic of D&D with the camaraderie of band camp—from the bestselling author of Dating and Dragons!

Questing for love . . .

Hazel Buchanan has her senior year mapped out: Win respect as color guard captain, kick off her first D&D campaign, and steer clear of distractions. But her plan takes a critical hit when Max—her former best friend and longtime crush—returns to town with drumsticks in hand and an unexplained chip on his shoulder.

Hazel and Max can’t help bickering every time they’re together, and thanks to meddling parents, he’s invading her D&D game too. As Dungeon Master, she’s ready to shut him down, but D&D has a way of bringing people together like nothing else. Is this rivalry masking something more? With dice rolling and emotions spinning, Hazel might be in for more than she planned . . .

Rolls and Rivalry Reviews

4.0
“Absolutely adorable and gave me all the cutest feels 😭♥️ I really liked all of our characters and the maturity level both emotionally and relationally felt accurate for high school. I really enjoyed it more than I expected to!! I definitely want to pick up the other books!”
“This was a pretty good book and I loved the band aspects of it but the reason it’s a 4 stars is because I liked the other two books in the series better -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -🫑/🫑🫑kisses and flirting -Language: just a few things here and there but no f-words or anything harsh -Genre: YA romance -Age rating: 13+ -Pages:358 -One first person POV -Pace: Medium -other things to consider: family drama, divorce, lgbtq side character rep, etc ⚠️⚠️⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️⚠️⚠️ I’m so glad Max redeemed himself at the end because I was beginning to not like him again after the first time he had already redeemed himself lol definitely when he said Hazel and him weren’t dating bc omg that pmo! He definitely watched 10 Things I Hate About You iykyk. I was rooting for Nova to get that award the whole time so I’m super glad she did(also I may be a little bias because I used to play clarinet in middle school). Li was super cute! I loved her character!”
“It’s not really enemies to lovers but the scene where all the books came together made my day! I would love to read a Novella about Nova and maybe their college experience? Points if all the books characters go to the same school!!!”
