Q: Do I have to buy the ebook to participate in a book club?

No, you don’t have to buy the ebook to participate, but we do recommend it to get the most out of your club. There are several premium social reading features that are only available when you buy the ebook, like annotations, reactions, comment threads, resources, discussion prompts, and more, all embedded right in the text. It’s a unique and immersive way to read.

Q: Why can’t I buy the ebook on the app?

It’s annoying, we know. App store rules prevent us from selling directly in the app, so for now you can only purchase ebooks on our website. Don’t worry: when you purchase an ebook on the web, it’s automatically added to your bookshelf in the app.

Q: How is Fable’s reader different from Kindle?

Kindle is a straightforward e-reader; Fable is an interactive e-reader that includes social features inside the ebooks. When you read an ebook on Fable, you can see and react to the text with others in real time. Most of our clubs are completely free to join. The only exceptions are clubs marked as “Premium” or “Career Development,” which do require a fee. You can find out more on each club’s detail page.

“Trust proves to be a difficult commodity to trade for veterinarian Grace Porter in this thrilling story. Grace is on a Facetime call with her sister Choe when she stops to get gas. Chloe is now divorced and Grace is headed her way to help out at the family vet clinic. She also intends to offer Chloe any emotional support that she might need. The phone call ends rather abruptly with the screen going black, Grace hearing Chloe's screen, and a man wearing a ski mask suddenly filling the screen. Imgaine Grace's terror for Chloe. Fortunately, Grace was almost at Chloe's house when her car ran out of gas, so she gets to the house rather quickly. What happens next is incredibly chilling. She comes face-to-face with Chloe's intruder. Before he flees, he delivers an ominous message to her. In rapid succession, Grace discovers Chloe is still alive, although injured. The police show up thanks to the quick 9-1-1 call Grace made, and the cop in charge is none other than her ex-boyfriend Police Chief Evan Bradshaw. Grace's head is spinning. Who attacked Chloe? Why does it seem that Grace is also in danger? And will Grace be able to trust Evan to assist them and possibly play a role in keeping them safe? As he is a single father, Evan has a lot at stake if he involves himself in Grace and Chloe's plight. “If you want to read a book full of action, intrigue, danger, and faith, check out this book for yourself. Grace Porter, a veterinarian, comes back to her hometown to support her sister who is getting a divorce and encounters danger. Evan, the police chief, and Grace's former romantic interest attempt to keep Grace and her sister safe. This story brings to life the relationships and more that result from small-town life. The characters come to life through the pages of this book. Evan's son along with Chloe's dog add dimension to this story. They make the story seem realistic of what life as a widowed father as well as a pet owner would be like. I had to keep reading to find out how the story would turn out. So check out this book for yourself. I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.”

“Holy Suspense! This book definitely grabs you right from the start. The story is about Grace who is a veterinarian who has left the town of Blackberry Falls partly because of her pre-conceived ideas of what small town life is like. She returns to Blackberry Falls to help her sister Chloe through her divorce and manage the veterinary office that her father left her. Seriously when I say that the first chapter of the book completely has you on the edge of your seat, nail biting as you are trying to figure out what is happening and who is the person out to get these sisters. As the story evolves you think you have it all figured out then the author throws in something else into the mix to throw you off! I loved it!! I love suspense novels so this one had me hooked. I honestly had to stop in the middle of the book and see if Rhonda Starnes had any other books out for me to read and I was completely surprised that this was her debut novel. There is some romantic aspects in this story as the story is also about Evan the sheriff in town, who was in love with Grace and even proposed to her before she left town. So there is definitely some unresolved feelings between them but the story line itself is not simply about their romance which I thought was refreshing. Don't get me wrong there was romance going on but you are so focused on figuring out what is happening that it just kind of blends and flows well together. If you love suspense stories this is the book for you! Definitely expect the unexpected with this one. I would not mind returning to Blackberry Falls and seeing a bit more of these characters again! I received this book as part of Just Read Book Tours. I was not required to post a positive review. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.”
