“This story was a bit of a slow burn romance wise, which at first made me wonder if I could hang in there. But then out of no where it started to pick up. I felt myself getting more and more invested into the characters. And before I knew it I was reading with tears just streaming down my face! I state all that so that if you pick up this book, I want you to give it time, and see if the characters and their love story doesn't grow on you. This is the THIRD book I have read by Jackie Stef and I have LOVED them all!
When Grace comes to stay with her Grandfather, she is instantly introduced to his employee Aaron. Aaron is very anxious, standoffish and truthfully just shy. But to Grace it comes across as rude and she completely misunderstands him at first. But as Aaron and Grace spend more and more time together she starts to open up to him. And he starts to get more comfortable around her. And just as they both start realizing how important this new friendship is... Something happens that threatens the foundation of that friendship and the possibility of a future hangs in the balance!
I can relate to Aaron's character the most. As an awkward and sometimes standoffish introvert sometimes that can be misunderstood. I love that Grace's character hangs in there and tries to understand the truth behind Aaron's behavior. Books like this truly teach us something SO wonderful. They remind us that God judges from the inside while we judge on the outside. Had Grace only considered what she saw outwardly of Aaron, she would have missed the blessing Aaron was, and could be in her life. He has (as many do) more than meets the eye, but the right person, with patience, and Gods guidance has to peel away at it to find the treasure within him.
Thank you once again Jackie Stef for this sweet, sweet love story! And can I add that Aaron's nervous clumsiness was just SO adorable!”
