“Sherrilyn Kenyon use to be EVERYWHERE and I never picked up her books. I was into Katie MacAlister, Gena Showalter, and Rachel Vincent, and just kept binging those. I ended up grabbing this book at a Dollarama for $2 and it sat on my shelf for YEARS. I'm finally getting through that backlog, and now I realize... She's a great author!
I really enjoyed this book, and I'm sad I don't have books 1-3 to fully appreciate this one. While the book felt a bit too long, the face past, fantastical elements, and characters worked really well. I had no idea what the heck the Beladors were because... you know... going into book 4 without any background, but I still enjoyed the twists, turns, and fantasy world I went into.
Hopefully, I find the rest of this series in my hunt because I do want to read more by Sherrilyn now.
Fun read!
