It is 1979, and a man is recalling the events of his twelfth summer, when he bought bullets for his gun instead of a hamburger. Written just before his death, and published in 1982, this novel foreshadowed Brautigan's suicide.

“A lot of these aren’t written extraordinarily well + it gets criticism for that.. but i personally found this a great read + got past that pretty much instantly.
1/3 1/3 1/3 deserves all its flowers, the abortion is an incredible read.”
