Rendezvous

Rendezvous by Amanda Quick digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

From the elegently appointed drawing rooms of London's most exclusive clubs to an imposing country estate in the heart of Dorset, comes a provocative tale of a free-thinking beauty, a dignified lord, and a mad impetuous love that defied all logic . . .

Augusta Ballinger was quite sure that it was all a dreadful mistake. The chillingly pompous and dangerous Earl of Graystone could not possibly wish to marry her. Why, it was rumored that his chosen bride must be a veritable model of virtue. And everyone knew that Augusta, as the last of the wild, reckless Northumberland Ballingers, was a woman who could not be bothered by society’s rules.

That was why the spirited beauty had planned a midnight encounter to warn the earl off, to convince him that she would make him a very poor wife indeed. But when she crawled in through his darkened study window, Augusta only succeeded in strengthening Harry’s resolve: to kiss the laughter from those honeyed lips and teach this maddening miss to behave! How could he possibly know that it was he who was in for a lesson . . . as his brazen fiancée set out to win his heart—and an old and clever enemy stepped in to threaten their love, their honor, and their very lives?

“I liked this back in the 90s, but doesn't hold up for me. The guy in this one is a jerk. The rest is pretty standard formula for a spicy, Regency historical romance.”
“Still loved it!”
Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face“A delightful book with lots of sneaking after dark, dry banter, and reflections on womankind. Augusta is strong willed, vivacious, and so so considerate of others. I don’t know what I want to be more: her bestie, her wife, or just straight up her lol She is the true hero of this book. She’s was GREAT with Harry’s daughter. Her fav pass times include: matchmaking, opening eyes to history’s bias against women, partaking in general impropriety, and encouraging other women to reach for the stars✨ Augusta is the best. Harry is a man who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to use dubious means to get it. He is the ultimate manipulative MMC rec lolol Fair warning, I could see others hating this guy lmao He is very aptly described as an autocratic and pompous ass by our FMC. At 80% in he is still thinking he knows what’s best and wishing his wife would follow his husbandly orders💀 I swear it’s completely all talk but I can imagine other readers wanting to push him off a cliff😂😂 but I honestly loved it 90% of the time How it compares to other Quicks: Way better than Deception, didn’t make me laugh near as much as Dangerous or Mischief. Mystery was more predictable, I guessed way sooner than others. Delightful side characters as always. Solid read that would have been perfect if MMC was 10% less of a dick and the internal problems got cleared up sooner.”
“Another good book by Amanda Quick, a light quick read.”
