“When I read that this was about the adopted daughter of death, I expected something different than what this story is. Once I got to the other side of my expectations, I absolutely loved this novella.
It is a beautiful story of a girl coming into her power. It is also a beautiful story of a legend, a goddess coming into being. In the darkness of her story, there is love.
The pacing is slow, but in this slow journey to Sankofa’s healing, I found something beautiful.
There are also critiques of technology & western corporations, but it is accessible & still allows for this to be Sankofa’s story.”ShaunesseyReads
