“Earth is no longer a peacefully inhabited Planet. Man's lust for greed and power has annihilated the Planet and what remains of mankind is a bedraggled bunch of stragglers resembling nomads. Builder, is an exception amongst the ferreting populace and he is trying his level best to help his people build a dam which would secure a means of sustained livelihood and regeneration.
However Builder faces his greatest stumbling block in Thougar, an elderly statesman nurturing draconian beliefs which include offering blood sacrifice to the Nordic God Thor. Thor has been installed in the form of an idol accidentally found buried under the soil by a one legged crony of Thougar named Morge. Will Thougar's blind belief prevail over Builder's rationalism?
Charles Dye's very very short story is an eye opener as it deals with the conflicting and at times irrational emotions of humankind. Watch out for the spectacular ending involving Thor!
Regeneration - Generates enough though provoking moments.”
