“They say you can’t go home again! Hayes left town after high school leaving behind his high school sweetheart Chrissy. This is a touching second chance romance.”
“They say you can’t go home again…… Once again, Christine Rimmer has given us a story that you can’t put down. Redeeming the Maverick is a new town and new characters but the same heartwarming story that gets you hooked until you can’t put it down. Hayes is a stubborn cowboy that swore he would never come back to the small town of Tenacity and stuck by his words until the day is Mama called for help. Packing up his belongings, horse, and dog, Hayes heads for home and makes it in time to get his father the medical help he needs and then rolls up his sleeves and begins to dig the ranch he grew up on out of the muck and mud and financial ruin. The day he hits town, he runs into his high school sweetheart and things head south from there. Chrissy moved back to Tenacity after her divorce and was working to find her independence and bringing her dreams to life until the night she walked into her beautiful condo to a flooded home and nowhere to go, because you can’t go home again. Chrissy runs into Hayes and they work out a deal to help each other. Chrissy can move into the Hayes family ranch in exchange for helping around the ranch. Reading the story of Hayes and Chrissy’s rekindled relationship was sweet and frustrating at the same time. Every time they would begin to get close again, one of them would pull back out of fear of being hurt deeply again. This author has an amazing ability to make you feel as if you are experiencing the frustrations, love, heartbreak, etc., she gets you into the hearts and minds of her characters. As I began reading this book, I was dealing with my own home flooding and can honestly tell you that Ms. Rimmer captured the gut-wrenching emotions and experiences that go with losing not only property but memories in one evening. Once again, this author provides strong, likeable characters, fun and frustrating storylines, and so much more. I can’t wait to read the next chapter of the Tenacity, Montana Mavericks and even though they say that you can’t go home again, sometimes you really can.”
