Publisher Description
From Jennifer L. Armentrout, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of From Blood and Ash, comes a heartstopping romantic fantasy series about angels, demons and gargoyles where dangerous secrets and forbidden desires lead to shocking consequences...
Half-angel Trinity and her bonded gargoyle protector, Zayne, have been working with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming, but who…or what…is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as sinister forces gather.
As tensions rise, they must stay close together and patrol the DC streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. But as deaths pile up and they uncover a plot endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.
The epic romantasy continues in the rest of The Harbinger Series:

“4/5⭐️
1/5🌶️
“You’re a keeper.”
“Good, because I want to be kept.”
“Sometimes I wondered why god made such an effort to save humans and their souls when humans were so quick to throw it away.”
“You’re under my skin and in my blood. I can’t get you out.”
“The plot was thickening but I have no idea what the story is.”
“Your rage will be your ruin.”
Jaw on the floor. I will admit I was quaking in my boots a little seeing how much longer this book was but I so throughly enjoyed it.
The realistic reactions and emotions of the characters yet again struck a chord in me. Trinitys battle with jealousy and anger was such a normal and valid reaction to what was happening it felt refreshing to not see it blow out of proportion to perpetuate the plot. Zane was also extremely valid in his reactions and emotions as well and seeing how they communicated(and even when they didn’t) it was next to see non perfect characters working out differences in normal ways- aka not insta forgiving or holding a grudge for 8 books.
I also really appreciate the non linear arc of Trinity and her development. She is not getting good better best. She has moments of weakness in her emotions and acts out. She knows the choices she makes sometimes aren’t the best, but that’s so very realistic. Sometimes people know better but react emotionally.
A complaint I do have however is sometimes it feels very inconsistent with what her level of eyesight is. Thee are times Zane will be across the room and she describes him doing something intricate with his face like furrowing a brow or squinting, while other times at seemingly the same distance she can only see his vague outline.
I’m really beginning to not enjoy the level of “gen z” this is trying to achieve at times and truly takes me out of the story. For instance the word “shookith” is literally said. Out loud. “Shawty” is also mentioned, MULTIPLE TIMES. By someone who is meant to be elegant and put together. It really grated on my nerves. It just gave the impression of someone in their 60s trying to write a young and casually throwing in slang where it makes so sense.
Ch 15 is giving Crecent City, iykyk”
