Purity of Heart Is to Will One Thing
ByPublisher Description
Søren Kierkegaard (1813-1855) was a Danish philosopher and theologian. Much of his work deals with religious problems such as faith in God, the institution of the Christian Church, Christian ethics and theology, and the emotions and feelings of individuals when faced with life choices.
"About the greatness of the book there can be no question. It should be regarded as the equivalent of shock therapy."—The Living Church

“Although there were some nuggets of wisdom, I cannot agree with Kierkegaard on some of his philosophies on “feelings”. He was a very passionate man and you can’t fault him for being passionate about his faith!”

“One of my closest friends recommended that I read this book, and to this day, it is one of the most meaningful books I have ever read. It influenced my theology and my personal walk with Christ. While I may not agree with Kierkegaard on everything, this book introduced me to the world of philosophy and theology beyond CS Lewis. Kierkegaard raised issues that I had sought to hide from, and it is a book that needs to be read and reread. You cannot learn everything from the first read through, and with each read, you will learn more. It took me almost a year to read it the first time, and I hope that the second time does not take me as long. I cannot wait to read it again and for Kierkegaard to blatantly attack me again. Excellent book all around, and I will be recommending it to my friends who have not yet read or heard of it.”
