Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung Reviews

3.5
“As someone who is a self-proclaimed music nut, this book had me laughing, while finding myself enamored in Lester’s writing style. I think he succeeded in writing similarly to Bukowski. His insight on musicians and specific albums were unique, sarcastic and downright rough. He held no punches, and I admire that. I feel like if he hadn’t succumbed and to his addictions, he’d not only be a music critic, but also an author of some sort of dystopian tale.”
“In my opinion, as crass and crazy as the world is, it still isn’t as bad as the 70s. This book is that so be forewarned. Yet, I think Bangs is genius and lots of interesting finds along the way. And he does change grow and interesting see pieces at the end actually critique his own work from earlier in the collection.”
