“I honestly have no clue how I would even put into words what this book made me feel…
This book almost got dnfed, but I’m glad I didn’t. I like the EOD version of Tobias so much more! I think he’s more normal in a way and not constantly infatuated with aria.
Also feel bad for Ewan. I know she loves him, she loves them both but I don’t like the feeling that he was a place holder, or like he was a second choice.
I sobbed like a baby when Gabriella was killed and for some reason the speeches always get me!!

“Well… this book was absolutely unhinged, and I loved every second of it.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most toxic relationships I’ve ever read. Tobias obviously has more than his fair share of issues, but Aria is just as broken in her own way. Together, they make you question why two people like this would ever find each other… and yet somehow, they do. Their story is messy, heartbreaking, frustrating, and completely consuming.
As crazy as Tobias is, I couldn’t help but empathize with him. Beneath all the obsession and chaos is someone who has never truly experienced a real connection until Aria. That absolutely broke my heart. His mental health struggles don’t excuse his actions, but they made him such a fascinating and, oddly enough, beautiful character to me. I found myself wanting him to heal even while watching everything spiral out of control.
Aria pulled at my heartstrings in a completely different way. I truly believe her connection with Tobias came from wanting to see him grow and become something more than his trauma. At the same time, she was completely in the dark about what was really happening inside his mind. Honestly? I can relate to that. I probably would’ve been just as caught up in those feelings without realizing how deep everything actually went. She’s human, and that made her feel incredibly real to me.
I will also add that Tobias scenario definitely had their own connection and spice for sure. It did not leave you wanting it left you satisfied for sure. But damn did I really want one good scene with Aria and Ewan. 🙄 but whatever I don’t always get what I want. But just wanted to add that little snippet.
Having already read the series about Kade and Stacy, I knew this story was heading toward disaster. But hearing Kade talk about his parents in those books made me need to know how Tobias and Aria got to that point. Their relationship had me so curious that I couldn’t skip this one.
Spoiler-ish thoughts: After everything I’ve read, I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Tobias never truly let go of Aria. Even after the events of the other series, I still think there was a connection between them emotionally, physically, or both. I actually love that Leigh Rivers leaves enough room for readers to come to their own conclusions because, let’s be honest, we all have imaginations that fill in the blanks.
This book adds so much depth to Kade’s story and made me understand him on an entirely different level. It broke my heart for Tobias and Aria, even knowing they were never destined for a healthy ending. And if I’m being completely honest… I don’t think Tobias was ever going to give up. That’s just who he was.
If you’re reading the Kade and Stacy series, I absolutely recommend picking this one up too. Personally, I would read it after the first book rather than before. Knowing Kade’s backstory first made Tobias and Aria’s story hit so much harder.
Leigh Rivers has yet to disappoint me. At this point, she can do no wrong. Give me all the toxic disasters, morally messed-up characters, and emotional damage because apparently that’s exactly what I signed up for.”
