“Not sure if it’s just the mood I was in when reading this but it definitely was my least favourite in the series so far. I didn’t really connect with either of the MCs and their connection or writing of it felt the weakest. I didn’t quite believe the juxtaposition of Jaspers normal and spicy side, felt a little cringe. It was still an easy read and overall enjoyable but I’m hoping I’ll enjoy the next one more.”
“Elsie Silver jak nikt potrafi stworzyć małomiasteczkowy klimat i zabrać mnie na spokojne ranczo i za to uwielbiam jej książki! Tutaj również to dostałam, ale poza tym klimacik był trochę inny, ponieważ książka ta opowiada o adoptowanym synu Harveya - Jasperze, który jest hokeistą oraz jego wieloletniej przyjaciółce, kuzynką dzieci Harveya, Sloane, która jest baletnicą.
Trochę ścięłam się tutaj na relacji tej dwójki. Wulgarna baletnica i łagodny, cichy i tajemniczy Jasper, który skrywa swoją władczą stronę. No jakoś po prostu tego nie kupiłam i mi to nie grało. Mało czułam chemii między nimi, ale zwykle tak mam w przypadku wątku friends to lovers, zwłaszcza takich od dzieciaka. Ich relacja z jednej strony była spicy, ale z drugiej po prostu mnie jakoś zmęczyła.
Na totalny plus jest to, że postać Jaspera jest wielowarstwowa. On ma swoje demony, nad którymi pracuje i mimo chwilowego zawahania finalnie wybrał właściwie i pokazał się z totalnie męskiej i silnej strony, stając murem za swoją dziewczyną, kiedy najbardziej jego potrzebowała.
Zwrócę tylko jeszcze uwagę na tłumaczenie, bo pale i majteczki... pozostawię bez komentarza 😂
Lekka, jak zawsze przyjemna historia, ale rozminęłam się z tą parą i ich historią. Może po prostu ten kowbojski klimat podkręcony baletem i hokejem już były dla mnie lekko przekombinowane. Co za dużo to niezdrowo!”
