By Maria Luis
Power Play (Blades Hockey) by Maria Luis digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

He's the NHL's hottest goalie. I'm a struggling sports journalist on the verge of losing it all.
My stick-in-the-mud boss is determined to make my life hell. He sits in my office and lays down an get an exclusive interview with the NHL's golden boy, Duke Harrison, or I'll be out on my butt.
No way am I letting my future rest on the broad shoulders of a goalie who's three seasons past his prime.
I've got eight days to convince Duke that the loyal fans of The Cambridge Tribune (annual 1,000) are dying to know about his life, on and off the ice. Eight days to face off against the sexy man who's hellbent on blocking my shot at every turn.
This power play is going to be one for the pucking ages.

Power Play is a flirty, sexy rom-com, and the first book in Maria Luis' Blades Hockey series. If you like low angst, quirky characters, and super sexy heroes, then Power Play will definitely be your jam. Power Play comes with a "be prepared to laugh" in public label!

Thumbs Up“it was okay. cute story but there were some parts that clearly weren't researched. I.e. he is a goalie and supposedly gets a penalty when Charlie goes to see him play? If a goalie gets a penalty they DO NOT serve it themselves because the net can't be empty for 2 minutes while they sit there. sounds like a small thing but it bothered me just being unrealistic.”
Expressionless Face“Firstly if I was in duke’s position I would have never forgiven Charlie no matter how pretty I think she is. That was just down right foul and as much as she wasn’t directly involved she still wrote the damn article. Smut was mediocre at best. Also I’m sick of romance authors and the way they talk about the females main characters self esteem and body image. CAN WE PLS JUST HAVE A WOMAN WHO LIKES HER BODY AND HERSELF AND DOESN’T NEED A MAN TO MAKE HER FEEL PRETTY. “Jenny was always the pretty one between us, and I was just the athlete.” PARDON ME. Worst line I have ever heard in a book. Are you telling me that women athletes aren’t pretty, pls take a hot minute and step back to rethink that line. It is AWFUL, no wonder media has destroyed girls self esteem. Ps. I was being generous with my rating xoxo”
