Pointe, Shoots, and Scores

By Carolyn Miller
Pointe, Shoots, and Scores by Carolyn Miller digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Opposites can attract, but can they dance?

For as long as she can remember Bailey Donovan has loved dance, especially ballet. When her dance studio faces the risk of closure, she takes a miracle of a gig training a complete non-dancer for a TV show. Only problem is, he's a grump to her sunshine, and for an athlete, seems to be lacking some moves. Or is he?

Luc Blanchard has sworn off wine, women, and definitely dancing as it doesn't fit his macho image. He loves God, hockey, and his family, with no time for more, until an unexpected promotion sees him forced to swallow his pride for the sake of his team.

Sparks soon fly as these two opposites spend time together, and they discover there's a certain magic under the spotlight, but will issues from the past ever let them truly soar?

Pointe, Shoots, and Scores is the third book in the Northwest Ice Christian hockey romance series, can be read as a standalone, and is perfect for fans of banter-laden romance with hope, heart and humor.

Pointe, Shoots, and Scores Reviews

4.0
“Pointe, Shoots and Scores by Carolyn Miller is number three in her Northwest Ice series, but can be a stand-alone novel. Bailey Donovan loves to dance, but needs to make some money to keep her studio open. She has a chance to be a pro-dancer on a Canadian TV series to teach a hockey player, Luc, how to dance for a competition. Luc Blanchard is not really about anything outside of hockey. His management talks him into being a dancer on a TV show to improve his image. He really does not want to dance, but soon finds himself enchanted by his partner, Bailey. Oh, this was a sheer joy to read. I love how the author combined dance and hockey for a satisfying romance read. Bailey is the kind of person you really want to be your friend. She is sunny, sweet and just so likeable! Luc is a fierce hockey player who is enchanted with Bailey. They have incredible chemistry. I enjoyed visiting the filming of the Dancing with the Stars like TV show and getting a peak into that world. I enjoyed revisiting with the hockey players’ Bible study and the wonderful faith elements in this redemptive story. So nicely executed. Pointe, Shoots, and Scores had great banter, a slow burn romance, an interesting setting in the world of dance and hockey and a fantastic ending. A perfect romance with great faith elements and relatable characters. I highly recommend Pointe, Shoots, and Scores by Carolyn Miller. I was given a copy by the publisher and not required to write a positive review. TW: below TW: someone is attacked, eating disorder”
“Pointe, Shoots, and Scores is my favourite book in the series yet. I was very excited to read this as an ex dancer (and it was AWESOME!!) As the dance storyline has a very special place in my heart. Bailey is the perfect combination of sweetheart and drill instructor, as she teaches ballroom dancing to the "I have two left feet when it comes to dancing and refuse to get on the dance floor for any reason" but yet am amazingly talented at hockey and other tough guy things Luc. Dancing is only the beginning of this story as Luc and Bailey face the ups and downs of life, in both a stressful competitive environment and their normal lives afterwards. Along the way, we meet their families, catch up with bible study guys, and see how the previous characters are doing. (Also, I think these are the funniest scenes Carolyn writes.) Pointe, Shoots, and Scores demonstrates the importance of stepping outside your comfort zone, the value of loving people no matter what, and that being courageous means doing something in spite of your fear. I received an ARC from the author, but this doesn't affect my thoughts on this book. I absolutely loved Pointe, Shoots, and Scores, and I cannot wait to see what's next with Zac and Ainsley.”
