A “gritty and raw” (Parade) story that will transport readers into the intriguing and demanding world of elite ballet.
“A victory for young people, especially young women, everywhere.”—Chicago Tribune
“An extraordinary book.”—Publishers Weekly, starred review
“Beautiful, sharp, and memorable.”—Courtney Summers, author of Cracked Up to Be
First he stole her heart. Then he took her friend. Now she knows the truth.
Theo is better now. She’s eating again, dating guys who are almost appropriate, and well on her way to becoming an elite ballet dancer. But when her oldest friend, Donovan, returns home after spending four long years with his kidnapper, Theo starts reliving memories about his abduction—and abductor. Donovan isn’t talking about what happened, and even though Theo knows she didn’t do anything wrong, telling the truth would put everything she’s been living for at risk. But keeping quiet might be worse

“No sé cómo describir este libro. A pesar de que toca temas difíciles y el plot twist está casi al inicio del libro logra tocar cada uno de los puntos sin olvidarse de ninguno.
Creo que es el primero que leo donde tocan temas como los de este libro y puedo decir que a pesar de que son fuertes no son para nada grotescos o incómodos de leer.
Sin duda sería un libro que recomendaría, sus personajes son buenos y la historia me encantó.”
“I really enjoyed reading this book. I just wished I had more closure with Theo and Donovan stories.”
“2,75 ⭐️ Well. I think I’m officially desensitized. Childhood friend abducted? Eating disorders? Secrets? Trauma stacked on trauma? And yet… nothing. Not a shiver. Not a flinch. The writing was good, technically, but something vital was missing. I wanted to be hit, shaken, torn apart. The description promised darkness, tension, emotional impact… and somehow, it delivered a yawn.”
