Publisher Description

It’s a story about resilience.... Patsy is a book that will open a lot of minds. I think particularly now, it’s critical that we open our minds to the way others live.... At the end this is a beautiful story of love.

Loudly Crying Face“I was immersed in it because the characters were familiar, emphasis on family. I knew the blocks in New York she spoke about, felt the frigid cold and understood what it meant to her to pack a barrel. The story has depth and layers and explored queerness as Jamaican and all that comes with it. I wanted all the happy endings for these characters!”

Slightly Smiling Face“I enjoyed this book but struggled with the dialogue, just because it took me forever to understand what they said. It was still a really good book with a great story. I loved the main characters and I was so there for them figuring out their identities.”
“Didn’t enjoy this one as much as Here Comes The Sun. Didn’t super love the narrator. Also, I’m not a fan of sh*tty selfish people, and this book was full of them. So, perhaps that was a turn off. It just didn’t keep my attention, especially not like HCTS.”
“I found this a slow start and hard to get into but then fell in love with Patsy and it sailed on by.”
“This is hands down one of my favourite West Indian books about the immigration experience that I have ever read.”
