“Anne Rice writes beautifully. These two books within a book truly read like unedited diaries. They were so authentic that it made the narratives feel a bit uneven.
Vittorio’s story held more power for me than Pandora’s. His interactions with the angels at the end were incredibly beautiful and unbearably tragic. Obviously, we know that this idealistic young man who saw his entire family murdered by vampires becomes one, but it's devastating to watch him fall and fail in his task to destroy them. Is it love or is it manipulation? You can understand why he decides to call it love so he can live with his choice.
His curse (or strange blessing?) of seeing the light within every human being, even the ones he kills, made for a powerful ending.”
