“I really love reading about the Saints of Steel and thoroughly enjoyed this installment just as much as the others. Galen and Piper are such a sweet, well-matched couple. I was especially glad to see Galen finally move past his self-deprecation and stubborn stupidity to recognize that Piper is more than capable of holding his own and that their relationship is worth taking a chance on 🥰
Although this book is much shorter than the previous two, I actually found it incredibly engaging. I loved getting a glimpse into the Ancients and seeing how the world used to be before the Clocktaur War. That added depth and history made the story feel fresh and fascinating. *side note upon googling Clocktaur I found T.Kingfisher has done a duology on the Clocktaur War! Yay!*
It was also a real treat to check in on the other two Paladins and see how their relationships with their partners have continued to grow and blossom. 🧶🐻
Overall, a shorter read but a very satisfying one, especially for fans of the series.”“This was such a cute story! I loved the crushing and yearning between these two men. When I read the previous books I was hoping Galen would also be a protagonist because I wanted to see someone helping him feel safe and loved even while he struggles with the battle tide. So happy it's Dr Piper that filled that role, they are so cute together 🥰 loved the ending as well.”
