“Out of Bounds was okay but very slow-paced. It fits into the detective fiction and police procedural genre, where the focus is on method rather than momentum. I liked Detective Karen as a character, and the story itself was unique, but the pacing made it feel more like an “airport read” just something to pass the time rather than a story that pulls you in. It lacked the high stakes and intensity I’ve come to expect from mysteries, which is why it gets three stars from me.”
