unfortunately while reading this book i felt like i needed to get it over with!!!
the good parts were good but honestly i don’t think it was necessary to have a sequel to these violent delights, i found it kinda repetitive and the plot confused me
i get that the author was trying to bring historical war stories and all that but the fantasy aspects were lacking for it to be considered as a historical romantasy in my opinion, and the whole romeo and juliet thing got old pretty quickly
i would have lovedddd again to see their love story when they were younger. their pining and yearning and the lovers to enemies to lovers to enemies to lovers again really came through and the backstory would have made it that much more attractive!
i didn’t get too attached to kathleen (celia) and rosalind, but marshall and benedict were cute.
overall the story fell a little flat for me but not enough to dnf”
