Only the Brave Try Ballet
ByPublisher Description
Football pro Grant Farley is nursing an injury and needs to get back into shape—fast. Ballet wouldn't be his first or even his last choice, but he's desperate. Enter tantalizingly prim teacher Jasmine Bell—one disapproving arch of her eyebrow and Grant knows he'll enjoy getting her tutu in a flutter!
But it's not only Grant's flexibility that Jasmine's pushing to the limit! He knows she feels the heat between them, so why won't she give in to it? Time to convince Jasmine that if she's brave enough to dance
she can certainly handle a fling with him!

“The concept for this romance read is so fun and right up my street - set in Australia, a footballer has to start ballet as part of an injury recovery programme. Ballet teacher plus football player = romance.
I liked Jasmine and Grant as main characters generally - they were both given backstories that added some depth to their characters. I liked that Jasmine was uptight and stubborn but I didn't like the way Stefanie London had Grant as the saviour character swooping in with the wisdom. It felt a bit too 'damsel in distress' for me, even if the damsel was generally too stubborn to take the advice. I wasn't totally convinced by the chemistry between Grant and Jasmine - it seemed to be rooted entirely in sexual attraction and not develop much further as we don't really see Jasmine and Grant spend time together? They do the ballet lessons and there are a few other scenes where they are together but not enough that it is possible they would be falling in love.
I really liked the Australian setting - it really reminded me of Liane Moriarty books! What I didn't love, however, were the plot holes. I am pretty sure Grant never finds out about a very significant detail in Jasmine's back story; Jasmine's injury isn't really explained properly so it seemed like the level of pressure she could place on it kept changing; the controversy surrounding Grant is not explained properly? Don't even get me started on the ending - it was far too abrubt, came out of nowhere and felt very rushed.
Overall, this was a fun read with a decent seggsy scene. I really love the set-up, I just wish the execution was better. I would definitely try more Stefanie London romance novels in future in the hope that the writing gets better and the plot lines stay as fun!”
