“Earth-shaking…you will flip for this epic love story.” —Cosmopolitan

“Reid's heartwrenching tale asks if its possible to have multiple soul mates.” —Us Weekly

From the author of Maybe in Another Life—named a People Magazine pick—comes a breathtaking new love story about a woman unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiancé who has finally brought her back to life.

In her twenties, Emma Blair marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. They build a life for themselves, far away from the expectations of their parents and the people of their hometown in Massachusetts. They travel the world together, living life to the fullest and seizing every opportunity for adventure.

On their first wedding anniversary, Jesse is on a helicopter over the Pacific when it goes missing. Just like that, Jesse is gone forever.

Emma quits her job and moves home in an effort to put her life back together. Years later, now in her thirties, Emma runs into an old friend, Sam, and finds herself falling in love again. When Emma and Sam get engaged, it feels like Emma’s second chance at happiness.

That is, until Jesse is found. He’s alive, and he’s been trying all these years to come home to her. With a husband and a fiancé, Emma has to now figure out who she is and what she wants, while trying to protect the ones she loves.

Who is her one true love? What does it mean to love truly?

Emma knows she has to listen to her heart. She’s just not sure what it’s saying.

Thinking Face“I'm not sure what to write about this book, I liked it more than the first book I read by the author; however, on the other hand, I didn't love it as much because the main character completely annoyed me to the point where I had to stop reading and take deep breaths. The only thing that kept me reading was Sam, as I was a bit frustrated with the rest, even though I understood the book's concept. 3/5 ⭐️”

Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes“Here’s the thing - this book was a great, easy read. I loved the plot, loved how different the two men were and how Emma came to realize who she is isn’t who she was. BUT, it’s very hard to rate this book higher when I’ve read other TJR books that literally blew my mind, and I know I’d pick up to read again.”

Anxious Face with sweat“I liked the book a lot, but I wanted to love it. It was a nice, easy read that’s sure to make you cry a little. I feel like there needed to be more depth to Emma finding out Jesse was alive though. The ending also felt a little rushed.. I think it would take more than a three day weekend to make the decision Emma did.”

Anxious Face with sweat“It was cute and I liked the banter - I laughed and cried a little too. I thought there would be more drama between the love triangle though. Overall it was about finding yourself (at whatever stage in life) and what true love really is. It was sweet.”

Slightly Smiling Face“So cute! TJR does it again! I think that there is a lot to take away from this book. I think I’m team Jesse… I think? But, I appreciate the message of how people change and love changes.”
