Publisher Description

From New York Times bestselling author Olivie Blake comes an intricate web of love, magic, and rival witch families in New York City.

In modern-day Manhattan where we lay our scene, two rival witch families fight to maintain control of their respective criminal empires.

On one side of the conflict are the Antonova sisters — each one beautiful, cunning, and ruthless — and their mother, the elusive supplier of premium intoxicants, known only as Baba Yaga. On the other side, the influential Fedorov brothers serve their father, the crime boss known as Koschei the Deathless, whose community extortion ventures dominate the shadows of magical Manhattan.

After twelve years of tenuous co-existence, a change in one family’s interests causes a rift in the existing stalemate. When bad blood brings both families to the precipice of disaster, fate intervenes with a chance encounter, and in the aftershocks of a resurrected conflict, everyone must choose a side. As each of the siblings struggles to stake their claim, fraying loyalties threaten to rot each side from the inside out.

If, that is, the enmity between empires doesn’t destroy them first.

“oh my gosh… THIS BOOK!!!!!! I admit, I couldn’t get into The Atas Six. HOWEVER, this just really did it for me. The writing, I found, was a lot more accessible here. The romances were great, as were the characters. I think I’m going to have to give Atlas another go!”
“two rival witch families fight to maintain their control of their respective domains. currently they’re at a stalemate, but when blood is spilled all hell breaks loose… going into this, i thought the primary storyline would belong to sasha and lev, but it turned out that they were just one of the many plots! i didn’t mind it, especially since the other plots made this book super interesting. as for the characters, i don’t think any necessarily stuck out to me. as the eldest daughter myself, i think i’m inclined to say masha would be my favorite, though. we need more eldest daughters fighting back representation”
““Write me a tragedy, Lev Fedorov,” she whispered to him. “Write me a litany of sins. Write me a plague of devastation. Write me lonely, write me wanting, write me shattered and fearful and lost. Then write me finding myself in your arms, if only for a night, and then write it again. Write it over and over, Lev, until we both know the pages by heart. Isn’t that a story, too?” Montagues and Capulets but make them rival witch families ! this was not at all what I was expecting honestly. it was really slow moving mostly because it is hugely inspired by Shakespeare and was mainly a complex scheme/political scheme being laid out throughout the whole book. but one of the most beautifully romantic written books I’ve ever read (annotated the fuck out of this book).”
