Publisher Description

From New York Times bestselling author Olivie Blake comes an intricate web of love, magic, and rival witch families in New York City.

In modern-day Manhattan where we lay our scene, two rival witch families fight to maintain control of their respective criminal empires.

On one side of the conflict are the Antonova sisters — each one beautiful, cunning, and ruthless — and their mother, the elusive supplier of premium intoxicants, known only as Baba Yaga. On the other side, the influential Fedorov brothers serve their father, the crime boss known as Koschei the Deathless, whose ventures dominate the shadows of magical Manhattan.

After twelve years of tenuous co-existence, one family member brutally crosses the line. Bad blood reignites old grudges; at the same time, fate intervenes with a chance encounter between enemies. In the wake of love and vengeance, everyone must choose a side. As each of the siblings struggles to stake their claim, who has what it takes to stay on top?

And who has what it takes to stay alive?

“Olivie Blake is a mind-blowing talent."―Chloe Gong, author of New York Times bestselling These Violent Delights

“"Write me a tragedy, Lev Fedorov,” she whispered to him. “Write me a litany of sins. Write me a plague of devastation. Write me lonely, write me wanting, write me shattered and fearful and lost. Then write me finding myself in your arms, if only for a night, and then write it again. Write it over and over, Lev, until we both know the pages by heart. Isn’t that a story, too?” she asked him softly." ✿ I don't think I can explain what this book did to me. The way I got SO attached to these characters (or despised them like roma) and the end is?!?!?! Y'ALL I WAS CRYING but it was also happy at the same time????? If you know you know ig”
Beaming Face with Smiling Eyes“One sentence to describe this book is middle child syndrome LOL Roman was such a whiny little prick. But seriously perfectly written book, Blake has a way of painting a beautiful picture. The love story blooming in the anguish and tragedy was bittersweet.”

Slightly Smiling Face“Even if I despise reading a het romance, all you have to do is call it a Romeo and Juliet retelling for me to be sold on reading it. I found the use of fairytale names interesting and the magical realism of the world cool. The characters and the relationship between the two families really made the story for me. I will always love a pair or two of star crossed lovers. As messy and terrible and toxic as he is, I want Roman so much more than he would ever want me.”
