“An absolutely spellbinding novel💗🎀 There is so much depth to this story following Evangeline and Jacks, along with so many plot twists like Apollos death brought on by his brother, but then coming to find out that he’s alive but not presently conscious either, I was shocked! Then to tie into all of that, Evangeline believes that Jacks planned all of the situations that ultimately threw her into the worst possible scenarios all so she can be the girl from prophecy- ‘The Key’! That also confused me because he seemed so caring towards Evangeline when she was dying from the poisoned tears, and when he instinctively pushed her out of the way of Luc resulting in Jacks being bit and almost turned into a vampire. (Also side note, I genuinely was convinced that Luc wasn’t going to come back, or that he was cursed by Marisol). Marisol honestly has little redeeming qualities but part of me does understand where her motives stemmed from; being brought up as the ugly daughter that people seem to put up with, then the cursed bride. But she shouldn’t have cursed Luc, but at the same time I’m so glad she did otherwise Evangeline would’ve never met Jacks or Apollo or LaLa who is absolutely gorgeous and my heart breaks for her and the circumstances she’s stuck in too❤️🩹 Overall I cannot wait to read the second book; The Ballad of Never After, I would recommend this book, but I might’ve just spoilt the entire book with this review lol!”
