Thinking Face“I need to re-read this one. I enjoyed it and found it very interesting, but I don't think I took the necessary time needed to digest the concepts that were discussed. It was good, but I need a second crack at it down the line. Definitely not a book to breeze through as I attempted to do.”
“I don't know how to feel with this book. In many paragraphs I felt like I was understanding the point made, but some paragraphs later I was lost again. Sontang's style is definitely not for non-native speakers, it's extremely complex. Maybe I need to read the book again but translated. But for the most part, I'm drowned with the genius of Sontang, so many things of this book made me think. The best part was comparing the thesis she proposed with today reality, where many things she said are still present. Others, of course, are outdated, but still some strong opinions, and amazingly crafted.”
