“this is a phenomenal book if you are looking to understand a bit more about how israel continues to get away with genocide and the annexation of palestinians.
part 1 is more of a conversation between chomsky, pappe, and barat. it’s really interesting because chomsky and pappe sometimes have different views / answers on certain things, but it is always in support of the palestinian people.
they talk about bds boycotts, how to make them successful, past ceasefire agreements that have not been held up by israel, how hamas came to power, how israel twists the narrative to continue their onslaught.
it’s really short and is super informative without feeling like you are just reading about history. there’s a conversational aspect which I think can help people learn about palestine even if they don’t enjoy reading nonfiction / history.”

“(4.5 stars) a really fascinating look at israel and palestine by two of the world’s leading intellectuals. i actually didn’t know before this book that chomsky was jewish, but i found it fascinating to not only read about this issue from a jewish perspective, but also an israeli perspective as pappé is israeli. i liked the first part of the book more (the conversation) more than the essays at the end. i found them to be a bit repetitive. i would recommend this to people who already have a good understanding of israeli and palestinian history and want to dive a little deeper.”
