Ink & Alchemy was a cute enough read, but unfortunately the romance just didn’t work for me.
The spice was definitely 🌶️🔥, but the atmosphere surrounding it often felt off. Some of the MMC’s behavior came across as overbearing and the stalker vibe wasn’t written right.. meant to be sexy and protective but came off kinda weird and when that was paired with the dirty talk, it sometimes felt more uncomfortable in the context than steamy. The spice itself wasn’t the problem — it was the atmosphere
The story also felt pretty slow and boring at times, which made it difficult for me to stay fully invested. I did enjoy the twist toward the end, and I appreciated getting a happy ending. 💕 That definitely helped bring things together.
Overall, it was an entertaining enough read, but the romance and pacing kept it firmly in the three-star range for me. I’m still undecided on whether I’ll continue with book two. 🤷♀️📚”
