“I can tell I am not the ideal demographic for this book. The topics in the book were interesting, and could’ve been talked about more as they are real issues that happen in our society today.
In terms of characters, they all felt a little flat. There wasn’t much distinction from them. That was really apparent during dialogue. If there weren’t dialogue tags, you wouldn’t really know who is who.
The last thing I wasn’t a fan of, was that Jack Reacher won every fight with little issue. Maybe that is more realistic (people are more likely to stay down after one punch than get back up like in movies), but since I knew Reacher would win, I was never invested. There wasn’t much at stake because you knew it would all work out in the end. That was what the plot had been telling you from page 1.”Matthew McClure

“I love Reacher. I’ve read most of his stories but this one just didn’t do it for me. I’m not sure exactly what it was but something just felt a bit off throughout. The converging stories didn’t really work for me and I was just overall a bit disappointed.”
