“I listened to this to learn more about New Orleans and the city’s culture and history and this was perfect for that. The book is extremely well done, thorough, and compelling with endings that make you tear up after having followed these people’s lives for decades and seeing how they choose to respond to the devastation of Katrina. I really appreciated learning about these people and the impact they had on the city and even more so enjoyed finishing the book while/after being in Nola and being able to understand the references and locations.
Would recommend to anyone planning on visiting the city or just interested in its culture!”
