There they hide as the man searches for them, trying to tempt the children out with promises and scare the mother into surrender.
In the suffocating darkness, the mother struggles to remain calm, to plan. Should she search for a weapon or attempt escape? But then she catches another glimpse of him. That face. That voice. And at once she knows her situation is even more dire than she’d feared, because she knows exactly who he is—and what he wants.

“Ebook from Libby.
One of the most unique reads I’ve read in a while. The writing style is interesting and took some getting used to, but the story had me hooked. The protagonist’s life has already been filled with trauma, then during the pandemic, she wakes one night to discover a strange and menacing man in her home and dives into action to protect her two young children. Everyone seems to have doubts about her, not least of all herself. This caused me as the reader to have doubts about her too. The story was gripping and got my pulse racing. I really enjoyed this one, and while the ending felt a bit rushed, it was a satisfying conclusion.”About Tracy Sierra
