“For a third book in a series, it did a great job getting new readers up-to-date. The layers of intrigue— murder? Insanity? Supernatural monsters?— did a great job interacting and not feeling overdone. The relationship between Nathan and Shelly was sweet and not super spicy but very genteel. The surprise relationship and double wedding made the book for me. Plus the exoticism of the pearl business and the practicality of journalism very much amused me.”

“This is my comfort read, I literally read this book no less than twice a year. I love the mystery and the characters and the spooky aspect of it. It’s just so cozy to me. It’s just a tiny bit spicy but not enough to distract you from the main plot and the ending is just so sweet. If you haven’t read this I suggest you buy it.”
