Night Has a Thousand Eyes
ByPublisher Description
One of Cornell Woolrich's most famous novels, this classic noir tale of a con man struggling with his ability to see the future is arguably the author's best in its depiction of a doomed vision of predestination.

“The vibes of this one are great. I was immersed in the noir atmosphere; the claustrophobic depiction of fate and its inescapability is like a slowly tightening noose. The characters and dialogue are a bit dated, but this is worth a read.”

“I may be in the minority here, but I really enjoyed the more intricate and descriptive writing that we get in parts of Night Has a Thousand Eyes. There were details that felt a touch lyrical and I really loved that and I think it sets apart this book from others in the genre nicely. While this may not be the norm for noir crime fiction, as a fantasy reader I really enjoyed it since that is a part of fantasy that I really love to see.
The characters felt real and grounded and their drives and paranoia grew stronger and stronger throughout the book and really created some good tension and suspense. The supernatural elements in here added a whole new layer to the story and leaves you questioning what is fact or fiction. the plot itself was compelling, there was a strong theme of determinism vs free will woven in and the mash up of noir crime fiction with supernatural elements and a layer of philosophical questions was so much fun.
I absolutely loved my time with this book from the characters to the themes to the dark and eerie atmosphere. I’m glad I saved this for my spooky season TBR.”

“Wow!
Fantastic but not in any way what I expected. A book of colour and theme, not of action. But what writing!
The story of a man who meets a woman one night and saves her from a suicide attempt. She tells her story and he follows her to save her and her father from destiny. Brilliant book.”
