“If on finishing this book you are intrigued and want to watch the 1972 motion picture Horror Express - don’t. It’s not worth it”
“This is tricky to rate. The short stories were mostly good. Not scary but a bit eerie and interesting. Overall I enjoyed those.
However a third or so of the book was non-fiction about horror, nostalgia, and a movie. It was extremely long and wandered too much. I struggled to finish that part.
I would read the short stories and only read the second part if you like wandering personal essays and obscure horror films.
Characters - 2.5 stars
Plot - 3 stars
Setting - 4.5 stars
Writing style - 2.75 stars
Ending - 1 stars”
