“An incredibly reflective and beautiful book, one of my favourites and definitely a modern classic.
As the novel and the nature of the world and situation developed, my interest never ceased. Even as I began to understand what was going on, I still wanted to experience those discoveries with Kathy. At times, the subtext and intention of what was going on in this alternative england deeply unsettled me as it is a version of our world that I do not find entirely implausible. The entire reading experience truly made me question how I categorise and limit the parameters of what it takes to be human.”Madeleine

About Kazuo Ishiguro
KAZUO ISHIGURO was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954 and moved to Britain at the age of five. His eight previous works of fiction have earned him many honours around the world, including the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Booker Prize. His work has been translated into over fifty languages and The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, both made into acclaimed films, have sold millions of copies worldwide. He was given a knighthood in 2018 for Services to Literature. He also holds the decorations of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star from Japan.
