By Melissa de la Cruz
Never After: The Missing Sword by Melissa de la Cruz digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Return to the land of Never After, where real life and fairy tales collide, in book four of #1 New York Times-bestselling author Melissa de la Cruz's hit middle grade fantasy saga perfect for fans of The Land of Stories series.

To save her mother from Olga's evil clutches, Filomena and her friends will set off for new lands and new adventures. Without a moment to lose, Filomena must travel to the legendary land of Camelot to find the sword of Excalibur - the only thing that can save her mother from Olga's mysterious illness.

But Camelot is not all that it seems. Filomena and the crew quickly realize that there is another fairy tale that has taken hold in the land of Arthurian Legend. . . that of the Wizard of Oz! With the help (and hindrance) of the Wicked Witches of the East and West, lions and tigers and bears will surely be the least of Filomena and the crew's troubles.

As the League of Seven follows the yellow brick road to retrieve the enchanted sword and complete their most important quest yet, they find nothing will thwart the ogres and their mission to destroy Never After. In a land where nothing is truly as it seems, will Filomena and the League of the Seven survive the witch's tests? Or will Olga's perilous plans rip her mother away from her forever?

Never After: The Missing Sword Reviews

“Why were they always yelling? Why were they in love at 13 and 13 saying 'I love you so much' and 'you're the love of my life'. Like no he isn't, no she isn't you're children calm down. But other than that a decent book. Um the ending made me a bit mad because what do you mean 'if she still loves him'. Like she's 25 and he's 13 if she still loves him then she's catching a case. As usual Alistair was the highlight of the book. And Rose, Marlon, and Arturo are honorable mentions. I feel like there has to be a way you revive that witch because them killing her I was like 'that is so unexpected for a kids book'. Also when they decided to share what their tests were. It was weird and awkward I didn't like it. I also never liked how she has that fairy mark on her head, that lights up... like no thanks.”
“OK, so these books are actually addicting. I feel like more people should read children’s books because I feel that just because somethings categorize for children or preteens doesn’t mean you won’t also enjoy it because I personally find that I like a lot more preteen books than I’m liking adults books because I just feel everything in an adult book is based around smut and just like how much you can put in a book and it just gets boring overtime because I like a lot of plot and a lot of character but you don’t really get that you get just a lot of smut and it’s really sad because it has a good idea. There’s good bones, but you ruin it when you add all the mush. And then your characterized as someone who only reads it because of the smut when in all actuality most of the time you skip over those chapters because you don’t really care.there’s so many fantasy books that I love that I just skipped those chapters because I was like I don’t really care like it’s not the most important part of the book and so many authors try to make it the most important part of the book.”
