Anxious Face with sweat“What a way to end this trilogy. It truly kept me guessing the entire time. Most of the time I was honestly pretty confused but I trudged on and it all came together in the end. It’s a little hard to follow the government, military jargon and the action scenes are just plain chaotic. It is a war so the writing matches the events unfolding in the story. Some of the descriptive language is so vivid and visceral, and I thought that was well done, especially when describing the Eidolons (shivers). I also found it a little challenging to distinguish between which characters were talking/what was happening to whom. Had me worrying, dreading, gasping, and even tearing up a little in the end. It’s a tragic, awful story in many ways with really no hope in sight (like the other books). I was very surprised at the ending and just in general the whole plot. I really could not have guessed it, though I tried.”

About Ian Tregillis

is the son of a bearded mountebank and a discredited tarot card reader. He was born and raised in Minnesota, where his parents had landed after fleeing the wrath of a Flemish prince. (The full story, he's told, involves a Dutch tramp steamer and a stolen horse.) Nowadays he lives in New Mexico, where he consorts with writers, scientists and other unsavoury types.
