“Another Carey classic 😌
The adventure in these books just never ends! Moirin’s story was SO interesting in this one, quite literally taking her all the way across Asia. We met so many interesting new characters, and the sense of loss when she left each one (and lost some old ones) was staggering. The entire storyline of Riva and the evil perspective it put on the Yeshuite religion was especially intriguing to me because that one is based on real-world Christianity/Catholicism.
Only taking 0.5 off because the ending felt a tiny bit anticlimactic compared to what I know Carey can do. I find myself hoping we get back to Terre D’Ange/Alba in the final book probably just for nostalgias sake but i’m jumping right into the next one!!”
