“#Prompt 3 - Title starts with the letter "M" @the52bookclub I usually love Dorothy Koomson's books, but this one didn't have me as hooked as her others. Writing this makes me feel disloyal to one of my favourite authors, however her books usually have me hooked from the first page, this book was very slow to get going and I had no real interest in the main characters. I did persevere, and towards the end, it did get more interesting, but the ending was a bit too unrealistic and farfetched. The story is told through two timelines where we meet Cleo in the present who has decided to divorce her husband but is then arrested for murder, and in the past when she is at university and entering into her first relationship with the peculiar Heath. This story has a lot of character development throughout the book. I just found Cleo to be a tad annoying. She's supposed to be bright and intelligent, but her decisions are strange. This book explores toxic relationships and the impact of obsession. The plot twist was also a bit unexpected and unrealistic and did make me feel where on earth did that come from! Not my favourite Koomson book”
