“Book: My Highland Hero Author: Miriam Minger Series: Warriors of the Highlands, Book #8 Publisher: Walker Publishing Book Length: 160 pages Overall Rating: 5/5 Stars Blog Rating: 5/5 Saltire Flags Scotland 1314 This book centers on Errol Sutherland who has loved Tira Cheyne forever. He wanted to ask for her hand immediately. Sadly her mother just passed away so he puts it off after their grieving period ends. If he could foresee the future he would have never let Tira go! Horribly Tira is abducted by their cold blooded nemesis the MacKay clan! Then they traded her to the brutal, Orkney raiders before she had a chance to escape! Now this cruel Orkey Northman demon, Thorgren Sigurdson who is the leader of these bandits forces himself on Tira and ravishes her every night for nearly a year! She is going through the worst drama a woman can through being horribly abused both mentally and physically. However he orders Tira’s death if any of the highlanders attempt to rescue her! Sigurdson believes if he can’t have Tira Cheyne then no one can-as he is truly a sadistic barbarian! Now a lot of men would have abandoned Tira thinking her as dirty due to her being ravished by force for nearly a year from this sadist beast!. Yet Errol is loyal and loves her more than anything and will do everything in his power to rescue and heal Tira. She feels she is not worthy of Errol Sutherland’s love anymore as she is not the same innocent unsullied woman she was a year ago. She is broken and not worthy of the man she loves and was supposed to marry. She thinks everyone has forgotten her but she is very wrong, Errol has been going mad not knowing if Tira is dead or alive and will do anything to find her and destroy this monster! Errols loves her more than anything in this world and asks King Robert the Bruce for his aid. Luckily his King gave him ships and warriors but only for ten days as he had his own war with England and needed the ships and every warrior on hand. Errol had to discover where this piece of filth was hiding his love. He also fears Tira won't love him anymore and will hate all men because he knew she must have been tortured and ravished by this savage piece of dung! This all takes place during Robert the Bruce’s battle with England during the war of Scottish Independence. Where eventually Bruce will win during the Battle of Bannockburn. I love how this author always puts real historical facts in her fictional stories. This is sadly the series finale so I am a wee bit sad this wonderful series is ending after eight magnificent books that I have read, reviewed and blogged about. Again, it is another book I absolutely loved! Anyone can read this or any of these books as stand alone books. I personally think readers will get more of the backstory if you read all eight books. Again that is a personal choice. This was a very emotional book that really touched my heart. A book I absolutely love. I have been reading Miriam Minger books for many years which always draw me in and I absolutely love. I can't wait to see what Miriam Minger will be writing about next!
