“I'm more used to jump scares, instant gratification and gore, which is perhaps why it took so long to get used to James' perambulations around a topic to the point of exhaustion!
But once you learn to overlook his antediluvian writing and the overabundance of information, you realise that it aids in creating an aura of apprehension and a phantasmic chill that tingles your spine long after you've finished reading these tales.
I only have to think of a mausoleum to be back in Råbäck with Count Magnus and his demon. And don't even get me started on why not to go looking for long lost church treasures!!”
